2011 - IIRI Celebrates 90th Anniversary Year

America’s Immigrants: Honoring our Past and Shaping our Future

Established in 1921, IIRI marks a milestone in a history of providing high quality programs and services to Rhode Island’s immigrants and refugees.

IIRI is celebrating its 90th anniversary year, having evolved from a modest organization providing educational opportunities and social services to Providence’s immigrant women and children during the 1920 to today’s vibrant, impactful organization providing comprehensive, high quality services to thousands of immigrants and refugees statewide.

"This celebratory year is an opportunity to honor our legacy of serving newcomers and to plan for new initiatives into the future" according to Bill Shuey, Executive Director of IIRI. “We are focusing our energy on celebrating the achievements of our clients, our students, staff, and our community of immigration and refugee supporters.  We invite the Rhode Island community to join us as we celebrate all year long.”
