Blankets, pillows, and other items needed for new Refugee arrivals

Help to make a new Refugee family's first Fall in Rhode Island warm and comfortable.

Imagine one day you are pulled from a crowded refugee camp. It is hot and a cotton wrap is all you need. After a long airplane flight you arrive in Rhode Island, just in time for Fall.

In a single day your life changes as you jump from one culture to a different culture. You have a new life now. Where do you begin?

This Fall a large number of refugees will arrive in Rhode Island and International Institute Rhode Island will give them their new beginning. Please join us in welcoming them and helping to make their first Fall in Rhode Island warm and comfortable.

IIRI is looking for donations of new or gently used blankets, comforters, and pillows as well as pots and pans, or a donation of a gift card for the purchase of these basic and much needed items. Please note at this time, IIRI is not accepting donations of clothing.

Please bring donated items to:
International Institute Rhode Island
645 Elmwood Ave
Providence, RI 02907

IIRI is accepting donations Monday through Friday between
9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon.

For more information about how to make a donation please contact Cindy Mauch at 401.784.8626 or cmauch@iiri.org or
visit IIRI.

Refugees come from war-torn and disaster-ridden areas of the world. Usually, they have spent several years in refugee camps where it can be difficult to find clean water or sufficient food or clothing. A refugee's journey to America is long and arduous.

When these courageous individuals and their families arrive here, IIRI is here to help them meet their basic needs as they work towards self-sufficiency. IIRI thanks you for your continued support.
