Help make their first winter in Rhode Island a warm one... Imagine, one day you're pulled from a crowded refugee camp just above the equator. The air is warm, humid, 82 degrees. A cotton wrap is all you need as you're driven to the airport. A few hours later you've landed in Rhode Island…where the temperature is well below freezing. Some stranger hands you your first winter coat. In a single day you jump between two utterly different cultures. Back at Square One…Where do you begin? For more than 200 refugees this year, the beginning is at the International Institute of Rhode Island. Please join us welcoming them and help make their first Rhode Island winter a warm one. Please bring donated items to: As the first snow storm of the season approaches please keep in mind that in addition to coats and blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, linens, pots and pans are also greatly needed.
