My Excitment About School
(Low Literacy Class Project)

"My name is Helen W.  I am from Liberia.  I am excited about school because when I was in Liberia I did not go to school because my parents did not have money to pay my tuition.  When I arrived in Providence I was encouraged by my mother’s IIRI case worker to attend the ESL classes.  By mistake I got pregnant and I dropped from the ESl classes.  I have the baby I was very happy. And I named him Elisha.  Now I have two children.  I am back to school to improve my reading and writing.  I want to help my boyfriend with school.  He helped to pay for my citizenship test.  He has been there in so many different ways.  He encouraged me in school to learn to read and write.  I am able to help my children with their homework.  I feel good."
